Watermelon

Watermelon was the last book I read. It is written by Marian Keys.

Story setting
Claire is giving birth to her first child. After she is exhausted her husband comes to the hospital and tells her, he is having an affair. He is going to leave her.
Devestated, Claire goes back to Ireland with her newborn beautiful baby-girl to her family. There she is surrounded by a soap-opera loving mother, a father who is happy if he doesn't have to get too much involved and 2 sisters who are in their teenage years, dealing with love, drugs and now a depressed sister.
But thanks to this craziness Clairs gets her acts together and starts living again... also to the suprise of her husband, who comes to Ireland to get her back to Londond.

Comment by Claudia
I thought it was a well written, easy to read book. Not too romantic, but still girlish enough. But it also reminds me of, how strong a women/wife can be. No matter what happens in ones life, you can always face it, the wounds are healing and you can go on. We need men, but they are not making out our life. I like that thought. Yes, we are stronger than we think we are.
But it also is reassuring, that if we have found our "true love" we should hold on to it, we should treassure it and take care of it, like a delicate flower.
But I don't want to give more into the book than it is, first of all, entertaining.

Next book is by Kathy Reichs: Déjà Dead
